When used early , or prior to an increase in pest numbers, it leads to feeding inhibition and to moulting, also to a reduction in fecundity and breeding ability. The formulation of the product greatly assists the transport of the active ingredient into the leaf. The formulation is naturally based neem extract, sesame oil and a surfactant from a renewable resource.Environment:Not a water hazardous material. Low toxicity to bees.Environmental fate:Neemazal formulations are metabolised by micro-organisms and water very rapidly. The active ingredient is rapidly degraded hydrolytically and thermolytically. IPM:When applied at the recommended rates, this product is usually harmless to non-target species and to beneficial insects like Encarsia wasp and predatory mites of the family Phytoseiidac.Toxicity:Low toxicity, non mutagenic. Acute oral LD50 > 5000 mg/kg rat. Acute dermal LD50 > 2000 mg/kg rat.First aid:If swallowed, give two glasses of water. Do not induce vomiting. Can be applied through any calibrated conventional ground spraying equipment. Water rates will depend on the crop and growth stage. When using concentrate spraying techniques and low water rates, adjust the dilution rate accordingly. Note: Following application, insects will stop feeding , become inactive and stop causing damage. Pests may still be present on treated plants for some time after application.Recommended Uses:Controls a wide range of pests including aphids, bronze beetle, erinose mite, whitefly, leaf-mining flies, mealy bug , scale insects, potato tuber moth, brown beetle (grass grub), cicada, weevils and midges. It should be combined with Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) insecticides to provide more complete protection against caterpillar where they are a problem with multiple generations. Monitor crop and repeat application 10-14 days later if necessary.Mealy bug, thrips, whitefly: Use 500 ml/100 litres of water and apply when pests are first seen. When monitoring indicates high numbers of pests are present, a cluster of 2-4 sprays at 7-10 day intervals may be necessary to achieve optimal control. Mites and leaf mining flies: Use 500 ml/100 litres of water and apply 2-4 sprays at 7-10 day intervals. Pack sizes1 and 5 litres. Registered pursuant to the Pesticides Act 1979 No. 5412.
